Construction on the roof above the Mezzanine and non-fiction areas will begin on Friday February 7th. The project is scheduled to be completed by May 2020.
Starting on Monday February 3rd, the non-fiction area, the Mezzanine, the Children's Department, the McIntyre Street entrance, the elevator, and both accessible washrooms will be unavailable to the public. The public internet computers will be unavailable until Wednesday February 12th, at which point workstations will be available for 45 minute sessions.
The Children's Department will reopen in the Auditorium on Friday February 7th with a selection of books, DVDs, and AV material; staff will also be on hand to provide support to children and families looking for activities.
During construction, the fiction area, the auditorium and the downstairs public washrooms (with accessible stalls) will remain open. Holds made on Adult Fiction, Teen Fiction (English), DVDs, CDs, Talking Books and some Children's materials will be filled; due to inaccessibility, holds on some non-fiction, Children's materials, Teen Fiction (French), and French Fiction will not filled. You can still place the items on hold and suspend the hold until those collections are available.
We thank you for your patience at this time.
