Science Sleuth

Monday, 5 November 2018 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

The North Bay Public Library Children’s Department and Frontier College will be hosting Science Sleuth, a kid-friendly experiment-based program on Monday evenings starting October 15th at 6 p.m. in the Children’s Storyroom. Investigate our world and many of the materials in it through a series of kid-friendly experiments. Every week, participants will be introduced to a different experiment and will follow the scientific process to learn about everything from chemical reactions to different forms of energy and force. Children can test out their own hypotheses and will take the lead in the experiment set up and clean up. No burners, matches or lit flames will be used, though children will handle a variety of materials (everything from white clue to vegetable oil to yeast to food colour) and should be prepared to get a little dirty. This program is suitable for scientists ages 6-12. When: Monday evenings starting October 15th through to November 26th, 2018. Time: 6 - 7 p.m. Where: Children’s Storyroom Registration will begin on Monday, September 17th at 9:30 a.m., either by phone at 705-474-4830, or in person at the Children’s desk.
